Thu, 20 Nov 2008 14:54:51 PST- Auburn Football (5-6, 2-5 SEC West) get two weeks to prepare for what is always the biggest game of the year: the Iron Bowl game against Alabama.
At stake is a chance to get bowl eligible, avoid a losing season, and perhaps save head coach Tommy Tuberville's job.
That's all.
Auburn's problems this year have been like a virus that passes from one player to the next, according to defensive back Walter McFadden.
"I told people earlier there was a virus that went through the team," he said. "The offense started struggling, and the defense got frustrated some. Other things got frustrated. We hung in there, though, and now we're healthy. I believe we're back." The Tigers are back if they found a prescription for two areas that have set this team back: kicking game...
Sat, 15 Nov 2008 17:04:21 PST-
Georgia coach Mark Richt is getting tired of "dodging bullets" and coming from behind for close wins in the final minutes. Richt watched the No. 13 Bulldogs score a fourth-quarter touchdown and then hold off two late drives from Auburn Football to defeat the Tigers 17-13 on Saturday. "The keys to this game were perseverance, guts and sticking together," Richt said.
Fri, 14 Nov 2008 12:49:25 PST-This Auburn-Georgia game figured to be a doozie, with championships and BCS bowl ambitions on the line, and maybe even a Heisman Trophy candidate or two on the field. That's how it looked in August, at least. Instead, Saturday's game will be about pride and some kind of bowl trip, for the Tigers. The 13th-ranked Bulldogs (8-2, 5-2 Southeastern Conference) have more to play for, but not a...

Tue, 11 Nov 2008 14:23:48 PST-The Auburn Football Tigers still have hope, however slim. All they have to do to ease the season's misery and wind up with a winning record and a much better mood is beat rival Nos. 2 and 1. More specifically, No. 13 Georgia and No. 1 Alabama. There are some benefits to saving the biggest games for last, even if such a sweep seems a tall order for a team that just struggled to snap a four-game losing streak...

Thu, 20 Nov 2008 21:00:19 GMT- --Perhaps the biggest news for Auburn Football occurred in Texas, where defensive coordinator Will Muschamp was named as "head coach in waiting" of the Longhorns.
Muschamp was Auburn's defensive coordinator last year, and the favorite of many to replace Tuberville if a decision is made to buy Tuberville out.
Muschamp will reportedly make $900,000 next year, making him the highest paid assistant coach in the country.
Thu, 20 Nov 2008 21:00:19 GMT- LOOKING GOOD: With the defensive line healthy, the Tiger defense played back up to early season form against Georgia, limiting the Bulldogs to 17 points. A healthy defense can keep Auburn Football close enough to make the next game interesting.
STILL NEEDS WORK: TB Mario Fannin had a big day against Georgia, scoring the only two touchdowns on a long run and a long screen pass.
